In the closure of the city’s last video rental stores, this short documentary finds its starting point to reflect on urban gentrification and the changing habits of consumption. Through disappearing spaces and the people who once inhabited them, the film connects the loss of these places with the transformation of the audiovisual medium and the arrival of artificial intelligence, used as a metaphor for an unstoppable technological change that redefines the way we live, consume, and relate to culture, leaving open the question of what is lost along the way.

HAUSPOA & TUNELA (THE TUNNEL OF THE BELLOWS) tells the story of how, in 1859, the Italian Juan Bautista Busca arrived in Zumárraga—alongside other Italians, Swiss, and Austrians—to work on the tunnels for the Madrid-Paris railway line as it passed through the area. These workers brought with them not only their experience in constructing Alpine tunnels but also small diatonic accordions, which they played to pass the time in the barracks where they were housed.
Busca was one of them. He did not leave when the construction work ended; instead, he married, settled in Zumárraga, and raised a family whose descendants still reside in the town. He planted the seed of a foreign instrument—the accordion—which, upon merging with the ancestral sound of Basque female tambourine players, gave rise to what is known as Trikitixa, a fundamental hallmark of Basque musical culture.
This is a story illustrating the enrichment that the arrival of people from diverse social, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds brings to any host culture.
The documentary features over 20 testimonials from prominent figures in Basque culture—such as Fermín Muguruza, Bernardo Atxaga, Kepa Junkera, Jon Maia, and Toti M. de Lezea—as well as members of the still-active Zumárraga Trikitixa group.
Filmed in the Basque Country, Navarre, and Santander, the project received support from the Zumárraga City Council and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.

From the chestnut to the bean. Through soil, water, ash, and seed. From death to life.
16th October 1925: Nicasio Leunda, the maternal grandfather of the director of this short
documentary, died when he fell from the top of a chestnut tree. This is the starting point
of this story, which two generations later culminates with what is to be the last black bean
harvest in the family farmhouse in Tolosa.
ITURRALDE could be the story of many Basque farmhouses: with their vicissitudes, their
customs, their day-to-day life, their uncertain future, and their poetry. Because poetry
seeps into this story through the Iturritxulo stream, the spring of the farmhouse itself, and
life rises from the ashes. Here, tied to the land of Iturralde, are the roots of the chestnut
tree, those of the black bean, those of the Leunda family, and those of all its women.
Because ITURRALDE also wants to vindicate the work of women in the rural world, often
silenced.

In a world of perpetual change, the trilogy SOAMES BEAIVVI BEAIVVÁŠ BÁITÁ DUŠŠE FAL DUTNJE (ONE DAY THE SUN WILL ONLY SHINE FOR YOU) takes us on a journey through our hedonistic and fragile contemporary age, where the shadows of our actions stretch far into the future. It is a mythological voyage through excess, unrest, noise, injustice, power, and pleasure. It carries with it fragments of the intangible knowledge from the Sami and Kven cultural heritage.

On October 29, 2024, heavy rains struck several regions of Valencia, destroying homes, personal belongings, and causing numerous fatalities.
After this tragedy, Pilar and Julia, mother and daughter, must cope with losing everything. Their fictional story reflects the pain and loss endured by those affected by the DANA in Valencia and other areas of Spain, honoring all those who suffered and whose memory will endure.
